Tomorrow a good friend and sister-in-law is having surgery. And not just any surgery, a life changing surgery, a double mastectomy at the age of 34. The cancer has been called by her doctors, aggressive. By the grace of God, it was found in an early stage and is only on one side. But, due to her age and the type of cancer she has chosen to have both breasts removed. Not an easy decision by any means.
I am putting this out and asking all of you to keep her and her family in your prayers. Tonight I ask that you pray for peace and rest. I know how hard it was for me getting ready to start radiation just a short year ago. I cannot imagine how hard it would be to be preparing for this kind of surgery. I ask that you pray for her husband, that he would have peace and trust that the surgeons and all the staff will take care of his wife.
I ask that you would pray that tomorrow would go smoothly. That the surgery would be straight forward and that they would be able to remove EVERY. SINGLE. cancer cell from her body. I ask that you pray that her lymph nodes would be completely clear and that no further treatment would be necessary after this surgery. I ask that you pray that God would guide the hands of the surgeons and give them wisdom.
Finally, I ask that you would keep Michelle, Greg and their kids, Norah (6) and Zach (3), in your prayers for the days, weeks and months to come. That God would be by their sides every step of the way, through her surgery and recovery. Please also be praying that God would protect Michelle from any complications or infection and that she would heal even faster than expected.
Thank you.
