Yesterday was a big day for these two girls. We celebrated Bethany’s second birthday (it’s not until the 21st) and Hannah was baptized at church! It was an exciting, proud, and happy day. We were so blessed to have many family members and a couple of good friends make the one hour drive up to celebrate both of these girls.
Here’s Hannah patiently waiting for her turn to be washed in the water. She was very calm on the outside but I could tell she was getting nervous. I kept waiting for her to turn around and tell me she was too nervous, but she never did. After, she told me that when she was waiting she started to have second thoughts because there were so many people watching, but that she was so glad she did it.
I love this one of Pastor Jason and Pastor Daniel talking to Hannah about why she is getting baptized. She told them because she wanted everyone to know that she loves Jesus.
Hannah came to me a few weeks ago and said that in Sunday school they told the kids that there was going to be a baptism coming up and that they could get baptized if they wanted to.
The next day she told me what they said and asked if she could to it. I asked her why she wanted to and she told me because Jesus forgives her sins and she wants everyone to know that.
My first thought was that she was too young to make that decision. But after thinking about what she said and how she came to this all on her own, I knew that she was ready.
Hannah has always been a very sensitive girl and I know that she loves God by the things she says and the way she treats others. And after seeing this, there was no doubt in my mind that there was a party going on in Heaven because God was so pleased.
Shad and I are so proud of the decision Hannah made to be baptized. Her life will never be the same!
After watching Hannah get baptized, we all caravanned back to our house for a late lunch of spaghetti, salad and garlic bread, and to prepare to celebrate Bethany turning two.
Bethany LOVES Doc McStuffins. I mean she LOOOOOOVES it. She got a stuffed “Lambie” for Christmas and she sleeps with it every night. She will watch Doc all day if I let her. I had to buy a DVD with several episodes on it because I was so sick of the two that were On Demand. She comes to me and emphatically hits me on the arm and says “watch Doc” over and over. So I thought it would be appropriate to have a Doc McStuffins themed party. I had to buy pintables to make this banner. The show is so new that they don’t sell party décor yet.
My sister-in-law, Jonnie, volunteered to make a Lambie cake. She did a great job!
I even found Bethany a Doc t-shirt to wear for the party.
“Oh look! My Lambie cake!”
Got her! Right in the eye. You gotta watch this girl, she is fast!
She did a pretty good job opening her gifts.
She wasn’t too sure about being sung to.
Seriously, what are you people doing??
Oh! Cake!
It was a fun day celebrating my girls. We love you both so very much, Hannah Banana and Bether Boo!
