Good Times

It was so wonderful having Karen and Cindy here for their short but sweet visit. They got here later than they had planned. That drive is always longer than you expect and it didn't help that they took the longest route to get here. No biggy. We got to stay up late on Friday just visiting. Josh loves it when the girls are here because him and Cindy have "play dates," as he calls them. He is always happy to have people get down on the floor and play with him. It was a late night, I didn't get to bed until 11:30. (Whoa! Living life on the edge, I know.)

Saturday we had a BBQ and invited our O-town friends over too, Ralf and Kat. It's always so great to introduce our desert friends to our back home friends. We ate some good food, complained about politics, the kids picked unripe cherries, played in the sand table, and just laughed a lot! It was a fun time. Then it was time for the girls to head over to B-town to visit Karen's sister. Poor Joshy cried when they left, big fat tears. He is so sad when he is disappointed.

Since we still had half a Saturday left, Kat and I headed to Boise to do some swim suit shopping for my trip...THIS WEEKEND!!!! (Just a few short days left.) I was quite successful in finding a suit and it was 40% off. (Pictures will NOT be posted on this blog!) Then we went to Red Lobster and I had some delicious parmesan crusted fish. Pretty much anything parmesan crusted is AWESOME! It was so good. While we were doing girl stuff, Shad and Ralf took the kids whistle piggin'. I guess they had a great time.

Sunday was church with an awesome, uplifting guest speaker, then followed with a church BBQ. So we got to eat more good food. (I can't even imagine how many calories I ate this weekend. Hope the new suit still fits this weekend!) Then we came home and did not much of anything. Well, let me rephrase that. I did not much of anything and Shad cleaned the bikes, worked on his bike, reorganized the garage and put some stuff on Craig's list (which was later canceled by the website for some odd reason). I sat on the couch, watched Lonesome Dove on AMC, fell asleep for a bit and then watched some more Lonesome Dove. It is like 8 hours long, so it kept me entertained for a looooooong time. Then after we ate leftovers for dinner and the kids went to bed, we watched the last episode of Band of Brothers. What an amazing series! Really gives you a deep respect for all of our soldiers! That's our weekend in a nutshell. Not super exciting, I know, but it was a good time!
