As a way to show Michelle support and love, last Saturday, we ran in her honor. The majority of us ran or walked a 5K but one crazy girl, Amy, did the half marathon on Sunday.
We had fast runners, average speed runners and walkers, but we were all there for the same reason. You may remember me writing about Michelle a while back when she had a double mastectomy a couple of months ago. It turns out that was just the beginning of her journey. The breast cancer was a very aggressive type, so now she is having chemo too. We all wanted Michelle to know that she is not alone in this journey, so we donned our “God’s got this” t-shirts, “Fight like a girl” head bands and pink ribbon tattoos and hit the street for her.
That’s Michelle in the middle holding the pink irises. I know that this has been hard for her, but she is always quick with a smile. While the run was a very small way to show her that we support her and love her, it was an honor to do it.
Please continue to pray for Michelle as she still has 4 more chemo treatments and then another year of non-chemo infusions after that.
Thank you.
