I know I haven’t done a WIWW for a very long time, but I thought today was the best day ever to get started back up again. I don’t have any outfits documented from the last week, but it doesn’t matter. Today’s outfit is the one that matters.
Today I am wearing my Run for Life Haiti t-shirt. The one I wore when I did my 5K a few weeks ago. When my team of good friends and I ran for the women of Haiti.
Today Barry McDonald ran his 11th marathon in 13 days. He is running up the coastline of Haiti to raise awareness about maternal health in Haiti. One in 90 women will die giving birth in Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Barry is trying to raise $800,000 so that Heartline Ministries can build a new maternity center where they will be able to take care of 3 times more women and babies than they do now.
Barry only has one more run left, tomorrow. He is in a lot of pain, but is pushing through by the grace of God. I have decided to wear my Run for Life Haiti shirt for the next two days to show support for Barry and the maternity center. My friends from the run are going to do the same. Our prayer is that we can get the word out to even one more person in the last 48 hours of Barry’s running. If you would like to help Heartline Ministries build the maternity center you can donate by clicking on the button labeled 4 The Love in the upper left hand corner of this blog. You can also read all about Barry and his run here.
Thank you!

What a great cause, Becky! I will pray that he makes it to the finish and that he will find relief from the pain. We live in a time where women shouldn't have to suffer or die from child birth. He is truly an inspiration.
