Bethany has this hair that is so thick, soft and long. It just keeps growing and growing, and no matter how many times I comb it to the side, it goes forward. It starts at the middle of the top of her head and straight over her forehead. I am not a fan of bangs on a baby, so I have been trying to grow it out. I do whatever I can to keep it out of her eyes but the girl will not cooperate with my plan. I try clipping it to the side, she pulls it out. I try a piggy on top of her head, she pulls it out. I try a piggy on top of her head with a rubber band, she pulls it out.
So most of the time she just walks around with her hair in her eyes, driving me crazy.
Well, the other day, after pulling out her piggy for the 10 millionth time, I couldn't take it anymore. I plopped Bethany on Hannah's lap and, snip, cut her bangs.
I was afraid she would either look like she had a bowl cut or a mullet, but, other than them coming out a little shorter than I had planned, they came out pretty darn cute. And the best part, I don't have to fight with her to leave her clips and piggies alone. When she gets a little older, I may try growing her bangs out. On the other hand, her hair just goes in that direction, so she may be doomed to have bangs, like her mom.
By the way, Shad and I started calling her Friar Tuck last night.
On another note, Hannah and Josh had a school program Wednesday night called Goin' Buggy. Here's Hannah with her bug antennas on...bangs-free.
