Mother's Day Post A Week Later

After almost 15 years of marriage, Shad is finally accepting that my favorite gift is the gift of shopping.  So this year for Mother's Day I was given a substantial gift card to a store that I love to browse, but rarely buy from, Nordstrom.  I look whenever I am at the mall, but only buy when I am willing to splurge, usually on the girls.  I would say that's about once a year.  Now that I am in that transition between maternity clothes and regular clothes I can honestly say that I have nothing to wear.  The maternity clothes are too big and, well, made for pregnant women.  And while I am still mistaken for being pregnant (two Sundays in a row!), I am no longer with child.  And my normal clothes are too small because I can still be mistaken for being pregnant.  So I have been wearing a mix of early pregnancy maternity clothes and post pregnancy fat clothes.  Seriously, I have nothing (that I like or look good in) to wear.  Needless to say, I was pleased to be able to go into Nordstrom, buy whatever I wanted and be waited on ALL BY MYSELF.

I came home with an entire outfit.

Including these super comfy flats.

The only thing that was better than getting a haircut, having all the unwanted hair removed from my face in various places then shopping was coming home and doing this.

Purging my closet of all maternity clothes.

Happy Mother's Day to me!

Those ARE super cute flats! We've all been there--the in between time after baby seems to last forever! But you are so quickly getting your body back and we know that it is worth it ALL for that little cute-ems.

LOVE the new outfit! Extra points to Shad on the shopping gift!! Oh and I am SO glad to hear I am not the only one who gets the "when are you due" comments...only I had my baby SIX months ago, not THREE.:) Ugh. Why do people even open their mouths? I got a comment just yesterday from a lady at Costco. I've decided my new line is going to be, "If you can forgive me for not answering, then I'll forgive you for asking." Too harsh?:) Oh happy day to start purging the closet! That IS a Happy Mother's Day!
