Trash and Dirt

Here's what we did last Saturday. We went up to the woods and picked up trash. Our annual Earth Day event. If I had a nickel for every beer can or bottle I picked up... Hillbillies. And I am saying that to the folks that think it is OK to throw their trash out their car windows not to the parents that let their kids play with dirty, broken down culverts that they found while picking up trash. You know the parents that let their kids roll the trash down the hill, then carry it back up the hill so they can roll it back down. What? At least we told them to stay out of the mud. And by the way, yes, Josh is wearing salmon colored cowboy boots. He seems to have out grown his hiking boots and only owns one pair of tennies, so we had to default to his hand-me-down boots. Hillbillies.

This is what we did on Sunday...and what we are going to finish this Saturday. I'll keep you posted on the final result.

And this is what Josh did on Sunday. Gotta love the snow boots with the basketball shorts, huh? It only took me a few minutes to clean up the water on the dining room floor. Did I mention that the screen door was open and asking a 5 year old boy not to get water in the house is like talking to a brick wall?

Wow! Love the outdoorsy stuff, and picking up garbage as a family activity? You guys are amazing! What a great way to teach your kids to take care of the planet and spend some time together. Had me cracking up at rolling trash down the hill.:)
