It's late and I'm tired after a very busy day, so it's going to be bullet points tonight. But first I want to say that I had a great day and I am doing much better about being here. Also, my eyes are feeling better, so thanks for praying.
Here goes:
-Started the moring with chocolate chip pancakes and fresh mango for breakfast.
-Next a devotional with Josh McHoul that was really good.
-Went to a store to get ice for our water bottles.
-Took a tour through a crazy busy, very hard to describe market.
-Went to Heartline's property called the "OK" and had a tour of the Women's Education program, the partially built new materity center, and the Men's Descipleship program/bakery.
-Had an amazing lunch with the men that are currently enroled in the descipleship program, grilled them with questions and learned so much about their lives, then prayed for them.
-Went to a storage place and loaded boxes full of packets of food from Feed the Hunger.
-Drove through town on some crazy windy, narrow, super bumpy roads to a small orphanage to deliver some of the food there.
-Played with the kids with balls, stickers and stamps and colored with them. Most of them just wanted to be held and the big girls braided my hair. The kids ranged from infant to 17 years old. HIghlight of the day!
-Raced back to the guest house through Port au Prince in the dark. The town is even busier and the driving even craier after dark! But we had a fun time "car surfing" in the back of the bus.
-Ate another amazing meal for dinner. (We have not had bad food yet!) This meal included mashed potatoes. :)
-Showered!!!!!
-Had some time reflecting on our day with our team.
-Had some time reflecting on life and why we came to Haiti with Shad.
-Now we are enjoyng a few minutes sitting on a soft couch as opposed to the benchin the bus that we spend many hours on each day. Then it is off to bed.
