Prayer Request

-Our very good friends, Troy and Malissa, are the godparents to 2 kids who lost their dad yesterday in a motorcycle accident.  Troy worked with this man and Malissa has been baby sitting the kids since they were infants, they are 10 and 8 now.  I am asking if you would join me in lifting up this family that has lost their dad/husband.  They need comfort while dealing with their tragic loss.  Malissa said that his wife seems to be handling it well, but has not had a chance to "fall apart" yet.  I can't imagine what it must be like to try to grieve for a husband while trying to remain strong for your kids. Also, please be praying for Troy and Malissa as they support this family while also grieving the loss of their friend.

-Our friend Larry is now residing in an adult foster care home.  This is a positive step in his recovery from his brain surgery.  He is back in the same town as his wife, Karen.  The therapist says he is making great strides, but has a ways to go before heading home.  Shad transported Larry from the rehab center to the foster care home and he said that Larry seemed to be doing quite well.  Shad took Larry to lunch because he said he was craving "deep fried fish or a burger".  I talked to Karen today and she was tearful.  She is feeling nervous about bringing Larry home and how it is going to go.  She wants him home, but doesn't know what to expect.  I can't imagine what it would be like to live with my husband that does not act the same as he did.  Please pray for continued healing for Larry and strength and peace for Karen.

-On a much lighter note, Bethany has hand-foot-mouth disease.  It's a viral infection that causes an ugly red, raised rash all over her body, but it's the worst on her hands and feet and she has a couple spots in her mouth.  She acts like she has a cold with a runny nose and poor appetite, but doesn't even seem to notice the rash except for when she points at the red dots on her hands.  It's a virus, so it just has to run it's course.  Please pray that it gets better quickly, that she continues to have minimal symptoms and that no one else in the family gets it.

Thank you!
