Before Bethany could walk, she did not like to wear shoes. I would put them on her, you know, for the cute factor, and she would take them off. Every time. But when she started to walk I wanted her to be able to walk outside, so she had to wear shoes. The only ones she owned were cute little dressing up shoes, so on Monday I bought her some tennies. It was hard to find some in her size so I bought a pair that is a little bit big. When she walks around the house her shoes make a clomping sound, so I started to call her shoes her clod hoppers. But here's the funny thing. She loves her clod hoppers. She will bring them to me and babble something that means "shoes on." So tonight when she brought her shoes to me, I put them on for her, over her footie pajamas.
She likes her shoes on, but she always un-velcros them.
She has also figured out how to drink a bottle while standing in her sturdy clod hoppers.
Can you really blame her for loving her shoes? They're pink, sparkly and they have big pink bows on the back. What's not to love.
(Yes, that is a tea pot in the background. The only thing she may love more than her shoes is that tea pot.)
