Christmas 2011

Shad and I surprised the kids by letting them open their presents on Christmas Eve morning.  They were so excited when we told them after breakfast.

Hannah had asked for a "dress that goes all the way to the floor" for her birthday and then again for Christmas.  It is so hard to find long dresses for a five year old.  I scoured the Internet and ended up ordering this one from a bridal website.

It's a little long, but I don't think she cares.  She just feels pretty.

Bethany got some gifts, but she was much happier eating the bows and wrapping.

I love Josh's face in this one.

Nothing like giving the perfect gift.

I just finished reading Josh's card that he made at school.

See the family portrait that he painted for us.

We drove down to our hometown in the early afternoon on Christmas Eve.  We spent some time with Shad's grandparents and uncle at the nursing home, dropped all our stuff off at my mother-in-law's house, attended Christmas Eve service at our old church then did our Christmas thing with my dad's side of the family.  We spent the night at Shad's mom's house, all the kids in their matching jammies.

Christmas morning we spent with Shad's family at his brother's house.

This is the closest I got to getting Josh, Hannah and Bethany in a picture with their matching jammies.

Bethany enjoyed more wrapping.

She is relentless with the paper eating.

This is the best picture I got of Bethany in her "Santa Baby" outfit.

Anyway, after this we headed to my parents' house for Christmas with my family.  Unfortunately, I forgot my camera.  We had more food, more gifts and more family fun.  Finally we headed back up north to our house.  We dragged 3 tired kids in the house by about ten o'clock.  It was busy, but we all had a great time.
