Summer is in full swing around our house. There have been several new things going on.
Josh won a month of free Karate lessons.
He loves doing kicks and punches. The instructor has stopped the class twice so that they could all watch Josh do his front kick perfectly.
I love the classes because he is learning respect, discipline and self control. Three things Josh needs to have enforced by more than just Shad and I. We may just continue on with Karate even after the free month is up.
Notice anything in this picture? No training wheels! Yes, he's on two wheels and doing great. Mom, on the other hand, is still allowing Dad to be in charge of Josh on the motorcycle. I'm still just a little too nervous. I find myself watching through the crack in my fingers while my hands are over my eyes.
Hannah has also started something new this summer. No more pull ups!! Hooray! She has been dry every morning for about 3 weeks and is, officially, sleeping in panties.
Now Bethany does something new just about every day, but she did something pretty big yesterday. She rolled from her back, to her belly, then back to her back. She has also started holding herself up on her elbows instead of just lying there with her face in the floor. She can maintain holding herself up for about ten minutes before she spits up then rubs her face in it. She is such a joy!
I'm not going to even attempt to make it sound like summer vacation has been all fun and games. It hasn't. Being home, alone most of the time, is very challenging. But I sure do love watching my kids do new things.

Now I can't get the words from the song, "Everybody was kung fu fighting..." out of my head! Hooray for new things and the joy they bring!
