Long Week

I know this week is coming to a close and the baby hasn't come yet.  Dr. B was quite sure she would be here, and so was I.   I guess it won't be one week until Monday and a lot can happen between now and then.  Today I have had some sporadic, yet painful, contractions and I won't go too much into detail what is going on in other areas, but let's just say the baby's head is very low and leave it at that.  I still think it will be this week.  We'll see if this girl agrees with that prediction.

It has been a very long, looooong week here at out house.  Hannah went from the GI bug last Thursday (where she threw up in front of her friends at mom2mom), to a terrible cold with major congestion and a moist, moist cough, to going to the doctor yesterday and getting antibiotics for a pretty good ear infection.  Josh has had a mild, wet sounding cough for the last week or so, but has otherwise been well.  That's until this morning when he told me he didn't want any breakfast because his tummy hurt.  Oh, I knew exactly what was coming and by 10 o'clock he was throwing up and white as a ghost.  He is currently trying to talk me into food (ya right!) and playing Lego's happily in his monster, footy jams.  Hopefully, that's the end of that junk.

And then there is me.  I had my OB check on Monday morning and was feeling so good and excited about what the doctor said.  I came home and vacuumed and mopped the house.  Then by about 2 o'clock I was on the couch with a stomach ache.  I think you can guess what came after that.  Sheer misery is what it was.  Abdominal cramping which caused some pretty harsh contractions.  Needless to say my belly was a bloated rock for about 6 hours.  Not fun.  And to top it off, Shad had to go 6 hours away for a meeting for work, so I was on my own.  Thankfully my mom stopped by after work, just as the brunt of my GI upset was unloading (in both directions, sorry).  She took care of the kids, fed them dinner and even did the dishes while I layed on the couch wishing I was dead.  Again, not fun.  Last night at dinner, it was the first time food had actually tasted good to me.  Like I said, a very long week.

So today we are taking it easy for one more day as Josh gets over the junk.  Hannah feels pretty good so she is tooling around the house playing dress up.  And I am feeling stir crazy so I have vacuumed, wiped dirty spot off the walls, window sills, fridge and dishwasher, done 2 loads of laundry, charged the camera battery, shared a frozen pizza with Hannah for lunch and done the dishes.  All this was done while enduring moderately painful, sporadic contractions, a very sore back and cramps in my groin.  So we are hoping and praying that tomorrow we are all well so we can meet some of Josh's class mates at McDonalds's for a lunch/play date and make it to movie night at church tomorrow for a little Kung Fu Panda (ah, the life of a mom), or go into labor.  I'll take either.  But I'll tell you, I am thanking God that these illnesses hit the house before the new girl's arrival because 1) I would not want a newborn with a stomach bug or nasty cold and 2) I wouldn't want to deal with me and the kids being sick while caring for a new born.  God's got it all figured out, ya know.  And I am also so thankful that Shad is back in town and will be until this girl comes.

Before I go, I just wanted to remind you to keep Ralf in your prayers.  He is back in surgery today to make sure they got all the cancer out of his eye area then he starts radiation on it.  I know he is scared, so he could really use some prayer specifically for that.  His wife, Kat, is with him as well as her parents Kay and Ray.  And thank you for all your comments on my last post.  I know Kat read them and appreciates them too.

Geez. You guys need a break. It should be YOU going to Disneyland! That would put you into labor ASAP. I'll be praying for you and trying to stay as up to date as I can! Love you and can't wait to meet Little Miss Huber!
