Yesterday, December 16th, my super dude turned 6 years old. Joshua is growing into quite the boy. He is definitely no longer a preschooler. Watching him gain confidence, maturity, make friends and learn to read makes me so proud.
Josh requested Star Wars cupcakes for his school birthday party. I wasn't sure how to do it, so I looked online. After looking at samples on geekology.com (go figure), I decided that an action figure crammed into the top of a cupcake would be the easiest and look the best. This way each kid got to take home a treat also. The action figures were a HUGE hit.
I didn't do just plain cupcakes, though. I did ice cream sandwich cupcakes, and I promise to post how I did that in the next day or two. I hope the suspense doesn't kill you.
"Haaaapy birthday, dear Joshua..."
Josh has the best group of classmates and his teacher is so great.
One happy little 6 year old.
These two love to hug each other lately. Melts my heart!
Happy birthday to my sweet boy!
I also want to say happy 35th birthday to my amazing husband Shad who just so happens to share his birthday with his boy. I was thinking about it and realized that I have been with Shad since a month after he turned 16. He thought he was so cool because he had his driver's licence and a truck. Needless to say I thought he was pretty cool too. So here we are 19 years later and he is still as cool as he was back then, but in so many other ways. I am so blessed to have literally grown up with this man. I know I will never be able to give him as special a birthday gift as his first born child (Uh, well, God had a little to do with that too), but I do want to say:
Happy birthday to my Shad! The man of my life, the father of our kids, a follower of Christ.
