Today I took Josh to school and picked him up without Hannah. Shad is off this week so she got to stay home with Daddy and help him back the trailer into it's spot. (Yes, we always put a 3 year old behind a moving truck. Teaches good dodging skills.) So it was just me and Joshy.
While driving home, my cell phone rang. Being the law abiding citizen that I am, I chose to "ignore" the call. Here is the conversation that transpired:
Josh: "What's wrong, Mom?"
Me: "Nothing, I'm just not going to answer my phone because it is against the law to talk on my phone and drive at the same time."
Josh: (looking out the windows) "But Mom, I don't see any police out there. There isn't any police behind you."
Me: (thinking this is a great life lesson moment) "Well, Bud, just because the police aren't watching doesn't mean I don't have to follow the rules. You follow Mom and Dad's rules when we aren't there, right? We teach you to be nice to other people, so when you are at school you are nice to your friends, right?"
Josh: "Um, I just don't want to talk about this right now."
Alrighty then...

Hahaha! Carson says that to me ALL the time when we talk about something serious, or when I ask him about his day. Hilarious!
Love it! Kat
