New Love and a Strange Story

I discovered a new love today. Really, I didn't discover it, per se, I was told about it by a Mom 2 Mom friend. It is a Subway on the south side of town with A PLAY AREA! I kid you not! It is surrounded by a short way and has a door. They have a little structure and a ton of giant soft stacking blocks. I had heard it would be great for toddlers but Josh was in kiddo heaven with the blocks. Like most children he would stack them and then knock them over. Oh it was so wonderful. The best part is I can actually eat the food there. I mean let's be honest here...Who takes their kids to McDs to have some sanity time while they run around like maniacs but ends up going home either hungry or with a major case of gut rot? Subway is not my most favorite place to eat, but can you really go wrong with a sandwich? And I feel like the kids are eating a semi descent meal.

Incidentally while I was there I met a cute little Mexican guy who just kind of struck up a conversation with me and the kids. He asked if the kids had ever seen a gold nugget. Being the friendly person that I am, ha!, I said that I hadn't even seen one before. Well wouldn't you know that he actually had one in his pocket. It was heavy and he claimed it was worth about $5000. He then proceeded to tell me that he was at some rummage sale and a lady had a couple of buckets full of these rocks and he bought them from her for like 16 pesos, which he said was about $1. He said they sat in his garage for 20 years and he just rediscovered them. He told me that they are now all in a bank and they are determining their total worth. He used a number like $60 million.

Now I have no idea if this story was true, but the guy seemed friendly enough. I kind of felt sorry for him because he was waiting for a friend that never showed up. I don't know why I met this guy today, it was kind of strange. Maybe the story was true and he was just too excited to keep it in, or maybe he was schizophrenic and totally feeding me some grandiose story that the voices were telling him. I don't know. I just though the whole experience was interesting and I wanted to share it. Who knows, maybe I'll see him in the news paper soon as a new millionaire. He was just a cute little guy, and I hope his story is true. How crazy would that be?
